Today is a snow day!!!  We got about 4-5" of snow over night. The kids are very happy!!!

Throwback Thursday…

Day 62

As predicted, today's temps started around 58 and ended up around 25.  At lunchtime it started sleeting off and on, and then it ended with a burst of snow. School has already been canceled for tomorrow since the low tonight is 19.  Remember my post from yesterday?  We had sunny weather with temps in the 70s.  Our NC weather is so bipolar.

I want to post a picture of Jackson at his game yesterday.  He is attempting a penalty kick here.  Jack missed the goal (the ball hit the side post), but the ball bounced back out and one of his teammates followed it up with a goal of his own.  I will take it.

And just to show the difference between yesterday and today, here is a photo of the new tree swing (just hung yesterday) with the snow from this afternoon.

Ice again this morning!  I really want it to be gone soon!  This is the worst winter that I can remember in quite a while!

This is kind of funny though…at the 9th hour, Jackson decided to convert an old skateboard into a snowboard!

Today is Thanksgiving Eve!  We drove to Gatlinburg, TN this afternoon.  We had clear skies until we got to Asheville, and then the snow started.  It was a little scary at times driving on I-40 in the Pisgah National Forest.  It took us almost an hour longer than we had planned, but we finally made it!  We have an amazing log cabin where we will celebrate Thanksgiving tomorrow.  This is our view off the back deck:

The kids were out for a snow day today.  Good thing it was already 36 and just rainy when we woke up this morning!  UGH!

B and Jack tried to make the most out of it, and they even shot a few baskets in the rain.

Jackson wore one of the new hats that MiMi gave him for Christmas.  I love the colors in it, and how they bring out the blue in his eyes!

ICE DAY!

As usual, we get sleet and freezing rain instead of snow today!

Again, I couldn't decide on ONE photo so I'm posting several from this afternoon.

The first photos are of the same flowers I posted the other day, the Hellebores.

Day 18

Well...the weatherlady said we may get between 2 and 4 inches of snow last night.  She said it would be a quick switch over from the 4 day torrential downpours we got from the Gulf.

We did in fact get some snow, and it was a little weird seeing it in the in-between stages of rain to snow.  This is what we woke up to...not the winter wonderland some of you have seen, but it was enough to get my two younger ones out this morning to play.  Yes, school was cancelled last night when the snow started.  Keep in mind, this is the first missed day of school due to snow in two years here. It was a big deal!!! :)
