Day 7

This morning was one of the coldest in the past 20 years here.  I think NBC had 5 degrees on the screen when we woke up!  Crazy cold for NC.

Anyway, I had seen several posts on Facebook about blowing bubbles in the bitter cold.  Crazy effects like they instantly freeze and don't burst when they land.

Before I took Emma and Jackson to school, I took Emma out to try the bubbles.  Unfortunately, we didn't have any real bubble solution or a wand.  I quickly made a homemade recipe of bubbles...1 Tbsp dishwashing liquid to 1 cup of water.  For a wand, Emma used our slotted serving spoon!

True to her Russian roots, Emma insisted on wearing a cardigan and hat...no coat or gloves!

Here is a photo of Emma blowing bubbles.  It was not cold enough to really have the effect we were hoping for...

One of JC's cousins lives in the mountains, and her husband is a photographer.  This is a photo he was able to capture this morning.  The bubble looks like a glass ornament.  So cool!

I saved this image from Facebook so it's not the best resolution.
