Day 230
The town of Morganton commissioned my husband's uncle to create bronze statues to honor and memorialize World War II Veterans. When we spent the night in Morganton during Brendan's state baseball tournament, I was able to photograph these statues. I am just now getting to edit the photos. The statues are just amazing!

That is absolutely beautiful.. what a great honor to be commissioned to design the statue!
ReplyDeleteWow, this brings back some good memories and some sad ones as well ! I've taken several people to see this memorial since it was dedicated several years ago. Did you also see the newer sculpture of Sam Ervin that is at the front of the Burke County Courthouse diagonally across from this memorial?? Thanks for posting.
