Day 21

My mother-in-law kept the kids today so JC and I could work.

As she was leaving, she pointed out our blooming plants on either side of the walkway.

I had no idea they were blooming, and I had no idea that they ever bloomed!  What a nice surprise in the winter!

The plants are called Hellebores.
The common name is the Lenten Rose.

They really are quite beautiful, but they are low to the ground so it is hard to see them right now.  We did find a ton of blooms though.

I can't wait to see what they look like in full bloom!

  1. We need to divide them when they're done blooming. They will probably bloom for 2 to 3 months, Great pix !

  2. So pretty! Are they supposed to bloom in the winter, or are they so confused with our crazy weather they just decided now is as good of time as any!
